Juantrell’s Sunshine Library shares the joy of reading by providing children’s books that encourage imagination, learning, kindness, and representation. Through every book donated, Juantrell’s light continues to shine in the lives of children.
Why This Program Exists
During Juantrell’s time in the NICU, his father would often read to him, filling his bed side with sound of a familiar voice and the love of his family. Those quiet moments showed us that reading can be about so much more than words on a page- it can create connection, comfort, and memories.
Juantrell’s Sunshine Library was created to carry those moments forward by sharing books with children and helping other families experience the joy and connection that reading can bring.
Juantrell’s Sunshine Library provides children’s books to help encourage a love of reading, imagination, learning, and creativity.
Through partnerships and book-giving initiatives, the Foundation places books into the hands of children and families who can enjoy them, share them, and create memories of their own.
Each donated book includes a special label recognizing that it was given in memory of Juantrell Golden Harvey, allowing his light and legacy to travel with every story.
What Juantrell’s Sunshine Library Does
How the Program Works
The Foundation selects a community partner or location where children and families can benefit from receiving new books.
Books are chosen with children in mind, including stories that encourage imagination, learning, kindness, creativity, and representation.
The Foundation donates the books to the selected school, childcare program, library, community organization, or other child-serving location.
Each book includes a special memorial label recognizing that it was donated in memory of Juantrell Golden Harvey.
